HealthChat Changelog

Release notes for HealthChat builds of element-web. The release pipeline (.github/workflows/build-healthchat.yaml) extracts the matching ## Changes in <version> section and uses it as the body of the GitHub Release.

One section per released version, newest on top. Upstream element-hq CHANGELOG.md is kept separate and untouched.

Changes in 1.7.2 (2026-10-25)

🐛 Fixes

• Opening app.healthchat.ch on a phone or tablet now shows the HealthChat mobile guide with App Store and Google Play links to the HealthChat app, instead of redirecting to the healthchat.ch website. The guide is in German, like the rest of the HealthChat web app.
• Universal Links (iOS) and App Links (Android) for app.healthchat.ch now belong to the HealthChat app. Phones with Element or Element X installed no longer open HealthChat links in those apps.

Changes in 1.7.1 (2026-10-21)

🐛 Fixes

• Calls work again on IPv4-only networks (home lines, mobile hotspots). The desktop and web apps no longer fail with MISSING_MATRIX_RTC_TRANSPORT when the healthchat.ch well-known lookup is blocked by a redirect without CORS headers; the embedded Element Call now carries the LiveKit service URL as a fallback.

🙌 Improvements

• Direct-chat calls can now use Element Call, so calls to users on the HealthChat Android app connect instead of failing as unsupported. The desktop app now offers the same "Call" / "Call (Legacy)" choice as HealthChat Web.

• Upgraded the bundled HealthChat workspace plugin to v1.2.0: the user directory search is now gated on approval, so unapproved accounts no longer appear in search results.

• Desktop installers and the auto-update feed are now hosted at https://packages.healthchat.ch/desktop/; the old address is retired. Apps on version 1.5.0 or older do not check the new address — download the current installer once from the new URL, and updates resume automatically afterwards.

• Upgraded the bundled HealthChat workspace plugin to v1.1.0:
  • Space administrators can now manage the members of a space directly from the workspace panel.
  • Removing a member from a space now also removes them from the bot-owned rooms inside that space, instead of leaving them behind.
  • The admin area shows the version of the deployed API.
  • The registration form now mentions the SHPC register alongside the diploma upload.
  • Granting the Verwalter role now force-joins the space administrator, fixing cases where the grant appeared to have no effect.

• Consolidated the "HealthChat Light" theme into a single source of truth (apps/web/element.io/healthchat/HealthChat-Light-Theme.json) that is synced into the web and desktop configs, with a lint check that fails on drift. No user-visible change.

• Upgraded the bundled HealthChat workspace plugin to v1.0.0. The plugin now authenticates against the Matrix backend through the MAS Admin API instead of an appservice token.

Changes in 1.2.3 (2026-06-30)

🐛 Fixes

• The desktop app (macOS) now lets you interact with the Mitglieder and Admin pages again. Their inputs and buttons were dead because the window-drag region used for the frameless title bar swallowed all mouse and keyboard events on those pages.

🙌 Improvements

• Share links and QR codes now resolve against to.healthchat.ch instead of the public matrix.to.
• The desktop About panel and macOS app menu now show the HealthChat brand instead of "Element".

🐛 Fixes

• The desktop app now talks to the correct API host (api.healthchat.ch). It was pointing at the bare healthchat.ch domain, which bypassed widget auto-approval and could leave permission prompts and revoke/minimise controls showing.

🙌 Improvements

• The desktop auto-update prompt now shows what's changed in the new version. On macOS the release notes travel with the update feed; on Windows the app fetches them alongside the download (Squirrel.Windows can't deliver notes inline). The notes are this changelog's entry for the new version.

• HealthChat desktop apps now auto-update. Installed macOS and Windows apps check the HealthChat update feed and install new releases automatically, and the public installers are now hosted at https://healthchat.ch/packages/desktop/ so first-time downloads no longer require GitHub access.

🐛 Fixes

• Gated upstream element-hq-only CI workflows (including the Storybook build) so they no longer run — and fail — in this fork.

🐛 Fixes

• Removed the Linux desktop build from the release pipeline. It could never succeed in this fork: the upstream Linux build step pulls a build-env Docker image keyed by commit SHA that only exists in the upstream element-hq registry, so every tagged build failed with manifest unknown. Desktop releases now ship macOS (.dmg/.zip) and Windows (.msi/.exe) installers only.

• Fixed the desktop release pipeline so signed Windows and macOS apps build and publish reliably: the build now reads the correct pnpm version, has permission to clone the internal fork, and asserts the desktop app version matches the release tag.

• HealthChat desktop apps for Windows (.exe/.msi) and macOS (.dmg) are now built and published alongside Linux on each release, with full HealthChat branding (app icon, name and healthchat:// deep links).

• Desktop installers are attached directly to the GitHub Release for the tag.
